Common questions
How do you know if a toilet needs a new fill valve or just an adjustment?
We listen to the tank and look inside first. If the water keeps running after the tank fills, the fill valve is worn and needs to be replaced. If it's running because the chain or flapper is loose, we adjust it. A new fill valve costs less than you'd think and stops the waste.
Is it cheaper to repair a faucet or replace it?
A cartridge or washer replacement costs far less than a new faucet, so we start there. If the faucet body is cracked or the valves are too old to seal, we tell you that upfront and recommend a full replacement. We quote it before we do the work.
What if the shutoff valve under my sink is stuck or leaking?
A stuck or leaking shutoff valve has to be replaced so you can control the water to that fixture. We turn off the main water, unscrew the old valve, and install a new one. If the valve won't budge, sometimes we need a bit more time, but we handle it in one visit.
Can you fix a fixture that was installed wrong or is loose?
Yes. We tighten the mounting nuts, reseal the connection if needed, and make sure it's stable. If the base is cracked or the threads are stripped, replacement is the better call. Either way, we tell you what we see and what makes sense.
